1) My family member is applying for Super Visa, what kind of insurance do they need?
In order to obtain a Parent or Grandparent Super Visa, applicants must have valid insurance. Super Visa is a program that will allow visitors spend time with their families in Canada for up to 2 years, at the same time with multiple entries up to 10 years.
Super Visa applicants must provide proof that they have private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company:
- Covers healthcare, hospitalization and repatriation;
- Provides a minimum coverage of $100,000 for at least one year;

Visitors might already have local insurance plans in their home country. However, these local insurance plans do not travel with them to Canada.
